For years Aaron Rowand has been known as a guy who can get it done with the glove, but through the last twenty games he's shown that he can get it done at the plate as well.

Rowand just lost a sixteen game hitting streak the other night, but he was back on the offensive last night against Atlanta with two RBI singles in the Phils' 6-4 victory.  After a luke warm start to the season Rowand has raised his average to a mighty .383 over the last few weeks, moving him into the top five in hitting in the NL.

Chase Utley also chipped in three hits, including another double to increase his league lead in extra base hits.

Cole Hamels was on the hill and got off to a very shakey start, he gave up three runs in the first to the potent Braves offense. But  the kid managed to settle down fast, and after a long, twenty pitch first inning he shut the Braves down.  Hamels lasted seven and a third and only let up one run after his shakey first inning.

Brett Myers and Tom Gordon closed the door on Atlanta late, combining to allow only one hit while striking out three to finish out the game.

Another one against the Braves tonight - Freddy Garcia will take the hill and try to improve his record to over .500 while trying to get the 12-14 Phils another win closer to .500.
